This collection of songs comprises demos made during the month of September 2023. They were recorded in a bit of a rush because I wanted to get them down before I forgot them. The process of recording demos for me is sorta like backing something up onto an external hard drive: once I record them, I can forget them (for a while), which allows me to create space in my brain to create new things. Not a perfect analogy, but you get the idea. Documentation, rather than perfection, is the goal.

I wrote nine tunes since returning home from a summer tour with my band One Eleven Heavy; I have yet to record the remaining three. The demos were inspired, in part, by a pact my bandmate / pal Nick and I made to write and record as many new songs as possible before we make the fourth One Eleven Heavy album, in the hopes that we will, ideally, have literally dozens of new tunes to choose from when the band gets together to record. This will allow us to be far more selective about what ends up on the record, while also creating a nice backlog of things to possibly revisit down the road should the well run dry.

In any case, as I mentioned, the demos are far from perfect, but I do believe they have a certain homespun charm, and I think anyone who has enjoyed any of my previous demo collections here on Bandcamp will enjoy these as well. The songs were recorded over two afternoons using mostly first takes.

I’ve been looking for this band! Psychedelia at its absolute finest......it takes its time, spacious interludes abound, and lots of atmosphere. Interesting tidbits here and there, distorted, pleasing vocals. They obviously don't take themselves too seriously either, but man, this is the real tripped out serious deal. I am hooked.
